At Hagal we turn negative to positive, accelerating the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy. 

Oil, energy, and coal make up 80 percent of the world’s energy consumption. To reach the global goal of 55 percent emission cuts by 2030, 75.000 TWh energy needs to be transferred to renewable energy sources. That equals three times the annual energy consumption in Europe.


There is an ever-growing need to power the world with clean energy, but that requires local energy storage – on a large scale.

Hagal moves energy in time, providing battery energy storage systems (BESS) that balance power supply and demand. Energy is locally stored and discharged when the usage and prices are high.


Battery energy storage is key to overcoming one of the biggest obstacles to renewable energy – the intermittency of wind and solar. By distributing the load on the power grid and expanding the use of renewable energy, we limit the need for extensive grid upgrades.


At Hagal we bring our technology to the batteries.

By 2030, there will be around 145 millions electric vehicles on the planet. During the same period, almost 13 million tons of batteries will reach the end of the road. With Hagal´s Switching Battery Management technology, these batteries can get a second life in stationary energy storage systems – making the power grid more flexible and future-proof.


Repurposed batteries are good news for the circular economy. They help limit the environmental impact of raw material extraction and carbon emissions from battery manufacturing, and speed up the access to battery storage while expanding the usage of green energy.

To meet the urgent need for batteries at scale, we created Hagal´s Battery LifeCycle Hub. This is our production facility for new batteries and centre of excellence for testing, analysing and repurposing used batteries. We optimise the utilisation of each battery cell, giving new and used batteries a longer life and supreme environmental performance. This way, we make sure that every battery gives green energy until its last breath.
