Hagal to establish battery centre in Hokksund
Everything Hagal does is anchored in our overall goal of ending dependency on fossil fuels for a cleaner tomorrow.
Through our core business and solutions, we are supporting the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:
UN Goal 7 – Affordable and clean energy
Battery technology is the keystone of the energy transition, facilitating decarbonisation of the transportation sector, while providing low-cost energy storage for intermittent solar and wind power generation. There is an urgent need to power the world with renewable energy, and batteries will play a crucial role in the transition to net zero by 2050, ensuring more balanced energy and consumption.
UN Goal 9 – Industry, innovation and infrastructure
The battery industry is uniquely positioned for the green economy. With new technological innovation, the values in the circular economy are shifting from battery recycling to reuse. Hagal paves the way for second life applications of batteries. We invest heavily in R&D and collaborate with companies and industries that want to develop more sustainable business models and circular solutions.
UN Goal 12 – Responsible consumption and production
Hagal enables a sustainable future using cutting-edge technology that allows intelligent reuse of batteries and longer battery life – strengthening the circular economy. By reusing EV battery cells, and in addition using B-quality cells from battery manufacturing, we reduce the carbon footprint of battery production and secure enough batteries for future energy storage systems.
UN Goal 13 – Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact
Batteries are a key climate solution that can enable a significant reduction in carbon emissions in transportation and other power-intensive industries. Developing more affordable and flexible battery storage solutions, Hagal is set to accelerate electrification and the transition to clean energy.
