The Eyde Cluster is the Norwegian Centre of Expertise for Sustainable Process Industry, working for the transition towards a sustainable future. The members range from multinational companies, regional suppliers, entrepreneurs, research organizations and education institutes. The cluster is actively developing a position to ensure a growing and competitive Norwegian process industry, with strategic focus on sustainability, circular economy and the battery value chain.

– The Eyde Cluster has been acknowledged for their ambitious and important initiatives, strengthening the Norwegian process industry and Norway as a battery nation. They have established an impressive network, collaborating to support the transition to a net zero society. We are happy to become part of this ecosystem, says Ringnes.

Promoting the Norwegian battery industry
Through Battery Norway, the collaboration platform, the Eyde Cluster wants to increase the knowledge about opportunities within material supply for Lithium-ion batteries. The goal is to contribute to the development of the battery value chain for batteries, build competency and infrastructure, as well as lifting the Norwegian battery industry on a global level.

Lars Petter Maltby, Head of the Eyde Innovation Center and CTO in Eyde Cluster, welcomes Hagal to the network:

– Hagal, representing the “second life” part of the battery value chain, is a valuable collaboration partner. Reuse of batteries and longer life cycles are critical to the environment. With the large amount of EV batteries in use, we are well equipped for recycling and reuse at a large scale. It is exciting that a Norwegian company is in the vanguard of the battery technology race, he says
